The promenade walk along the swim beach is experiencing cracking and subsiding, while the support wall/bulkhead for the promenade is being undercut, posing safety concerns and non-compliance with ADA accessibility standards. Improvement Objectives: Identify the source of the promenade subsidence and undercutting of the bulkhead. Evaluate strategies to stabilize and repair subsiding upland facilities; consider removal or relocation of features if necessary. Rectify the issues identified and the resulting damage to upland facilities with an emphasis towards long-term sustainability, and a design that gracefully connects/thematically reflects the existing park design and the ecology of Lake Washington.
