1. Renovation and addition of an existing two-story art and classroom building at the center of the Bellevue College campus. The project includes approximately 6,000 sf demolition of the existing C Building- North. The remaining 23,000 sf of the building will be comprehensively renovated and with a 40,000 sf addition along the north and west sides. The completed project will be known as the W Building with a total square footage of approximately 63,000 sf. 2. The building will include spaces for wood, metal and maker space shops; ceramics; photography; painting and drawing; digital and print art; general purpose classrooms; and flexible gallery, study and gathering spaces. A covered work yard is provided on the south side of the building as an outdoor extension of the shop spaces Mandatory 15% apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours are a requirement of the construction contract. Voluntary numerical Diverse Business goals of MBE, WBE, 5% Washington Small Business, and 5% Veterans have been established for this project. Achievement of the goals is encouraged. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
